Necessity of Project Construction
The global demand for large ships is growing rapidly. With the economic globalization, the position and role of world shipbuilding industry become more and more important. According to the forecast by Shipbuilding Industry Association, the average demand per year is 42700000 shipping tons in the coming ten years, which is higher obviously than 32700000 shipping tons in late 1990s of last century. Meanwhile, the in-service ships tend to become aging, which have large demand for renewal. Besides overseas market, China’s shipbuilding industry also has large domestic market. China’s shipbuilding industry develops rapidly, however, because of limited resource of deep water coastline, large shipbuilding enterprises should seek for more suitable shipbuilding base.
